Thiruvananthapuram: The controversy over appointment of relatives of CPI (M) leaders in key posts in public sector units intensified with the CPI organ Janayugam coming out with an editorial criticising the CPI (M) for the appointments on Monday.
The editorial said that there was no doubt that nepotism was corruption. It was grows injustice and crime to make such appointments when a large number of qualified people were remaining unemployed.
It warned that attempts to justify nepotism by referring to corruption by the previous government would not wash before the people and the law. The left parties and their supporters could not tolerate such action.
Hence, the Left Democratic Front should take corrective actions and take steps to prevent repetition of such development. The blot on the Front could be removed only by adoption of better internal democratic processes both in the Front and constituent parties.
