Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan said on Monday that leftists catered to all as human beings equally though attempts had always been made to distance believers from them.
“This was why we could work with single mindedness in improving facilities at Sabarimala and extending help to Haj pilgrims,” the Chief Minister said in a facebook post.
People reposed faith in the communist movement above religious and caste considerations rejecting campaigns of its enemies, Mr. Viajayan said.
He said that the government was committed to providing for the welfare of Haj pilgrims. Directions had been issued to provide necessary facilities for the pilgrims at the airports. Kerala had been an example in providing facilities to haj pilgrims.
He recalled that a record number of pilgrims would be going for haj this year because of efforts made by the State government and Haj Committee. The quota had been increased to 11000.
