State Planning Board expanded

Kerala State Planning BoardThiruvananthapuram: The government has expanded the State Planning Board with official and non-official members.

The Cabinet on Wednesday decided to nominate Minister Thomas Isaac, E. Chandrasekharan, A. K. Saseendran and Ramachandran Kadannappally as members.

P. Jayaraman and R. Ramakumar (Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai), K. N. Harilal (Centre for Development Studies), K. Ravi Raman (Nehru Memorial Museum and Library), Jayan Jose Thomas (Indian Institute of Technology), Dr. B. Ekbal and  Mrudul Eappen will be non-official members.

The Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) will be the official members besides the Principal Secretary Planning who is member Secretary of the Board.

The government had earlier named V. K. Ramachandran as Vice Chairman of the Board. The Chief Minister is the Chairman of the Board.

(A name has been corrected in this report following a clarification from Chief Minister's office. There was also a mix up regarding institutional affiliation of Mr. Harilal. This has also been corrected.)
