Kochi Metro to be commission in March next year

Thiruvananthapuram: The date for commissioning of Kochi Metro Rail stands extended to March 2017.

The project was originally scheduled to be completed by November.

Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan on Monday directed that works should be speeded up to realise the project by March.

Addressing a meeting convened to review the project, the Chief Minister called for quarterly reports on progress of the project. He would personally review the progress.

The meeting also decided to convene a joint meeting of government, the Kochi Metro Rail Limited and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation shortly.
