BJP announces candidates for 22 seats

BJPThiruvananthapuram: The Central Election Committee of the BJP has approved the first list of 22 candidates for Assembly elections in Kerala.

A decision on the list, submitted by the State unit, had been deferred earlier by the Committee as it wanted the State unit to complete seat sharing talks with NDA constituents such as BDJS. The list was approved after BDJS withdrew from its demand for a few of those seats.

State president Kummanam Rajasekharan, O. Rajagopal, V. Muraleedharan and P. K. Krishnadas will be contesting from Thiruvananthapuram district.  Shobha Surendran is to contest from Palakkad constituency and K. Surendran from Manjeswaram. Former State president P. S. Sreedharan Pillai will be fielded in Chengannur.
