Thiruvananthapuram: The Vimochana yatra led by BJP State president Kummanam Rajasekharan and Kerala yatra led by Muslim League leader P. K. Kunhalikutty concluded here on Thursday.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who inaugurated the valedictory function of Vimochana yatra here, said that the people of Kerala were fed up with the available alternatives and looking for the 'Third Alternative'. They had been under UDF and LDF rule for long without witnessing any change.
Mr. Singh said that the left parties fought in Kerala while they sought alliance in West Bengal.
The All India secretary of Muslim League Khader Moideen inaugurated the valedictory of the Kerala Yatra. League president Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal presided. Congress leader A. K. Antony, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala were among those who spoke at the function.
The function was preceded by a rally from Chakai in the city.
