Protests demanding resignation of Oommen Chandy

Thiruvananthapuram: Bharatiya Yuva Janata and DYFI launched marches and demonstrations in different parts of the State demanding resignation of the Chief Minister on Wednesday.

DYFI workers blocked the car of the Chief Minister at Puthuppally. In Thiruvananthapuram, protests by the Yuva Morcha turned violent and police had to resort to mild lathicharge to control the crowd. Morcha leader R. S. Rajiv was injured. In Ernakulam, BJP workers burned the Chief Minister in effigy.

In Nilambur Morcha, workers marched to the residence of Aryadan Muhammed, demanding his resignation.
