Manjeswaram: Kerala Yatra led by Muslim League leader P. K. Kunjalikutty began from Manjeswaram in Kasaragod on Friday evening with League president Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal flagging off the march.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shihab Thangal said that intolerance was growing. Even those in the ruling dispensation were asking minorities to leave the country.
Referring to the move to change the minority status of Jamia Milia University, he said that efforts were also on to take away minority rights.
Specifically referring to the march by Vellappally Natesan, Mr. Kunhalikutty said that his march was to cleanse poison spewed by previous marches. The controversy over bar bribery, stirred by Opposition, was aimed at wresting power.
The march, being organised as a prelude to Assembly election campaign, will conclude in Thiruvananthapuram on February 11 after traversing all the districts.
