Tharoor to meet Chinese President, Premier

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Member of Parliament from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Premier Li Keqiang during the second 'Understanding China' conference to be held in Beijing, China, from November 1 to 4.

Dr. Tharoor will be joining the two days of discussion in his capacity as a member of 21st Century Council, one of the patrons of the conference, and the Chairman of the External Affairs Committee of Indian Parliament.

Members of 21st Century Council including eminent political and industry leaders from across the globe such as former British Premier Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of Italy Mario Monti, political scientist Francis Fukuyama, economist Larry Summers, former Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo, former President of Brazil FH Cardoso, Google's Eric Shmidt, Reid Hoffman from LinkedIN and Evan Spiegal of Snapchat will attend the conference, an official release issued by Dr. Tharoor’s Office said.
