Suspected goonda, mafia links: 424 persons arrested

Thiruvananthapuram: The police have arrested 424 persons, suspected to have goonda mafia links, in a single day.

The largest number was apprehended in Thiruvananthapuram range— 180. The lowest was in Kochi range— 42. The arrested included 15 persons who were involved in selling of drugs near schools.

The Police Chief T. P. Senkumar said that the operation suraksha will continue in the coming days. People can report criminals by calling 1090 or the district superintendents of police, an official release said.
