Police patrols to keep an eye on ATMs

An Indian suspect withdrawing money from ATMThiruvananthapuram: Director General of Police Loknath Behra has asked highway patrol and night patrol teams of police to check on automatic teller machines in the area of their charge regularly.

They should look for suspicious equipment and networks connected to ATMs and check the backside of ATM kiosks for damage or unauthorised equipment.

They should also check if guards assigned to the ATMs are present and report their absence to the banks.  

Directive in this regard were issued to zonal ADGPs, range IGs and district superintendents of police against the background of rip off in ATMs in the city by Romanians.
