Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition Leaders led by V. S. Achuthanandan today called on Kerala Governor P. Sathasivam to urge him that he should cancel his address to the Assembly on Friday.
They told the Governor that the government was immersed in corruption— palmlein case, bar bribery, Pattoor case and solar scam. Murders and violence were on the increase across the State. In view of this, the Governor should avoid delivering policy address for the government.
The Governor said that he was only fulfilling his constitutional obligations. The Opposition can exercise their democratic rights to dissent.
