Pay revision for Kerala government employees announced

Kerala Government SecretariatGovernment salaries to go up by Rs. 2000 to Rs. 12000. Minimum salary will be Rs. 16500.

Revised salaries from February, and arrears from April 2017.

Additional expenditure of Rs. 7222 crore. (updated story)

CPI (M) workers waylay Excise Minister

Excise Minister K. BabuCPI (M) workers, demanding Excise Minister K. Babu’s resignation over bar-bribery, today waylaid the Minister near Mascot Hotel here on Monday.

The protest led to tension between the protesters and police and stone throwing. The Minister, who was going to inaugurate the newly built headquarters of the State Beverages Corporation, insisted that he should attend the function and was stranded among protesters for some time.

PM launches Start-up India movement with fund of Rs. 10000 cr

Prime Minister Narendra ModiPrime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Start-up India initiative in New Delhi today. Start ups can begin with self-certification based compliance system in respect of nine labour and environment laws and three year-tax holiday.

Pinarai begins march

Nava Kerala MarchCPI (M) general Secretary Prakash Karat flagged off the ‘Nav Kerala March’ led by party leader Pinarai Vijayan, at Uppala near here on Saturday.

The march is being organised as a prelude to the Assembly election campaign by the party highlighting political and developmental issues.
