Thiruvananthapuram: The Cabinet on Thursday decided to trifurcate Information Kerala Mission into three departments—Research and Development, Operation and Maintenance and Human Resource.
The will also be divisions such as research and logistics, software development, testing and quality control, help desk and grievance cell.
Appointment to important posts will be done through deputation, direct recruitment and promotions. Staff will be categorised as professional, technical and non-technical for deployment.

President of India Pranab Mukherjee will visit Kerala from February 26 to 27, 2016.
On February 26, the President will inaugurate the 200th Anniversary of CMS College at Kottayam. On the same day, he will also inaugurate the valedictory function of celebrations of 155th Anniversary of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 at Kochi

The last session of the 13th Kerala Assembly ended on Wednesday with a discordant note.
The Opposition had boycotted the sitting after the Speaker disallowed moving of an adjournment motion, and frequent disruptions of the proceedings by the Opposition had forced the government to cut short the session from 14 days to 11 days. The usual bonhomie of the last sitting was absent.

The Opposition staged noisy protests in the Kerala Assembly, and later boycotted legislative business on Wednesday.
The House saw noisy exchanges and slogan shouting between the Opposition and ruling Front members during consideration of a notice given by the Opposition to move an adjournment motion. The motion sought to discuss the recorded observation of Thrissur Vigilance Court on Tuesday that Oommen Chandy had signed the file relating to the palmolein deal as the then Finance Minister. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Minister for Industries and IT P. K. Kunhalikutty, UAE Cabinet Affairs Minister and Chairman of Dubai Holding Mohammed Al Gargawi and Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy inaugurated the first phase Smart City Project in Kochi on Saturday.
The construction of the second phase of the project was also inaugurated at the function.
