Twenty five lakh job vacancies to be created in next five years

Governor P. Sathasivam said in the Assembly on Friday that the government proposed to create 25 lakh job opportunities in the next five years.

Of these, 10 lakh jobs would be in Information Technology, Bio-Technology, Tourism, Electronics and other emerging areas and 15 lakh jobs in agriculture, construction, commerce and small industries. The government also aimed to provide skill training to 10 lakh youth.

Government to bring new IT policy

Thiruvananthapuram: The government proposes to bring a comprehensive IT policy in consultation with all the stakeholders in two months, Governor P. Sathasivam announced in the Assembly on Friday.

Emphasis shall be given to increase the employability of our youth in tune with the changing demands of the IT industry, he added in his address to the House.

Kerala to seek study by new team on Mullaperiyar

Mullaperiyar DamThe government will focus on legally establishing the need to get a new multi-disciplinary team, consisting of best available experts, to assess the safety, strength and durability of the Mullaperiyar dam and suggest remedial measures, Governor P. Sathasivam said in the Assembly on Friday.

‘Zero tolerance to corruption’ will be government policy: Governor

Governor's AddressThe government will pursue a proactive policy of zero tolerance to corruption, Governor P. Sathasivam told the Assembly on Friday.

Addressing the newly constituted House at its first session, the Governor said that government would make the policy visible and felt. To achieve the objective, a bouquet of measures to control corruption would be adopted.
