CPI (M) member of Lok Sabha P. K. Biju tops the list of members from Kerala who have participated the maximum number of debates in the House.
The member, representing Alathur constituency, has participated in 162 debates between June 2014 and May this year. He also has an attendance of 85 per cent.

The government proposes to achieve a growth rate of 22 per cent in tax revenue this financial year, Finance Minister T. M. Thomas told the Assembly on Friday.
Presenting the revised Budget for 2016-17, the Finance Minister announced a nine fold strategy to increase revenues.

More than a third of the members of the 13th Legislative Assembly (excluding ministers) have not fully used the reimbursement facility available to them for purchase of books, information obtained under RTI Act shows.
As per rule brought in 2013, members are eligible to seek reimbursement of up to Rs. 15000 a year. So, the members of the last Assembly was eligible for a total of Rs. 60000 in four years.

Kerala Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau has started a drive to collect intelligence on frauds.
Vigilance Director Jacob Thomas has directed all officers and staff of all units of the Bureau to collect intelligence on emerging corruption-linked frauds and potential future frauds and send details periodically to the computer cell of the Bureau. This would be updated on Bureau Web site and social media.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Government proposes to introduce a comprehensive programme to create a data bank on migrant labourers in the State, said T. P. Ramakrishnan, Minister Labour and Excise, in the Assembly on Thursday.
There is no proper record of migrant labourers working in the State. As per the report of Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation there is an estimated presence of 25 lakh migrants in the State, he said in reply to a question from Eldho Abraham (CPI).
