Police patrols to keep an eye on ATMs

An Indian suspect withdrawing money from ATMThiruvananthapuram: Director General of Police Loknath Behra has asked highway patrol and night patrol teams of police to check on automatic teller machines in the area of their charge regularly.

They should look for suspicious equipment and networks connected to ATMs and check the backside of ATM kiosks for damage or unauthorised equipment.

Beware of extremists misleading students: Chief Minister

Addressing the Independence Day Parade here, the Chief Minister said that extremists were trying to brainwash people by turning spirituality and religious beliefs into false spirituality and communal hatred. Families and the local communities should ensure that students going to schools and place of worship were going nowhere else.

CPI (M) woos Kerala Congress (Mani)

Thiruvananthapuram: The CPI (M) has indicated that Kerala Congress (Mani) will not be unwelcome in the LDF.

CPI (M) State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said the other day that there could be issue based cooperation with parties dissociating themselves from the United Democratic Front.

Differences in Kerala Congress (M) over alliance

Senior leader P. J. Joseph maintained that alliances were inevitable. However, he is not for alliance with BJP.
