All party delegation may meet PM to take up Kerala’s concerns

New Delhi: An all-party delegation may meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take up State’s demands with the Central government.

This was discussed at a conference of the members of Parliament from Kerala held in New Delhi, chaired by Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan. However, the Chief Minister is yet to get an appointment with the Prime Minister.

Chief Minister Pinarai VijayanKerala Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan told the Assembly on Friday that the government had communicated to the Centre its concerns regarding the approval, in principle, granted for Kulachal port within 30 km from the Vizhinjam port under construction in Kerala.

He had also sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi this month to take up the issue directly with him.

Cooperative banks to be merged to form Kerala Bank: Chief Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: The district cooperative banks in the State will be merged with State Cooperative Bank to form a single bank with highest number of branches in the State, Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan informed the House on Thursday.

New project for rehabilitation of Gulf returnees

Replying to a Calling Attention by K. V. Abdul Khader (CPI-M), the Chief Minister said that assistance to returnees under  welfare scheme for them would also be increased.

Chief Minister defends director general of prosecution in Assembly

The Chief Minister refuted the contention of Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala that the court had directed registration of a case against the DGP. The court had only started hearing the petitioner.
