Bonus for government employees

SecretariatKerala Cabinet on Wednesday decided to pay Rs. 3500 as bonus to government employees earning up to Rs. 22000 a month (including 9% DA).

Employees with monthly pay of more than Rs. 18870 will be paid festival allowance of Rs. 2400.

The Cabinet also raised the limit for assistance from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund that can be sanctioned by the Chief Minister from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 3 lakh.

Talks between government and private medical college managements fail

Thiruvananthapuram: Talks between managements of private self-financing medical colleges and Health Minister K. K. Shayaja failed on Monday.

Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan will now hold discussions with the managements to resolve the deadlock.

Trains cancelled, rescheduled, diverted

Passengers waiting for train at Thiruvananthapuram Railway Station on August 28A large number of trains have been cancelled, rescheduled or diverted following the derailment of Mangalore Express at Karukutty near Aluwa.

Five long distance trains have been diverted via Tirunelveli-Erode. They are Thiruvananthapuram- Mumbai, Kanyukumari-Bangalore, Alappuzha-Dhanbad, Thiruvananthapuram-Gorakhpur-Raptisagar and Thiruvananthapuram-Hyderabad trains. Kerala Express to New Delhi and Guwahati Express from here are also being diverted via Tirunelveli.
