Assembly to sit for 29 days

Thiruvananthapuram: The second session of the Assembly beginning on September 26 will have 29 sittings, stretching into November.

As per the calendar of sittings published by the Legislature Secretariat, the session will continue till November 10.  However, there will be a week’s break in the second week of October to coincide with Mahanavami and Muharram.

The House will consider Bill to amend the Kerala Devaswom Recruitment Board Act besides full budgetary demands for grants for this year. The amendment proposes changes in the structure of the Devaswom Recruitment Board.

DMRC to get consultancy for light metro projects

MetroKerala Cabinet on Wednesday decided to award the consultancy for preliminary works of light metro projects in Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

This will be subject to conditions. The consultancy for the entire project will be entrusted to the DMRC upon receipt of clearance from the Centre.
