The list of candidates of Congress will be finalised only towards the end of this month.
The Pradesh Election Committee of Congress in Kerala will meet on March 23 to consider preliminary list prepared by KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. It may propose changes to the list though the Committee is unlikely to deviate much from the list prepared by the three member committee.

Thiruvananthapuram: Congress will be going slow on finalisation of its candidates list for Kerala Assembly elections as polling is more than two months away.
The initial plan was to submit a short list of candidates with a maximum of four choices for each constituency to the AICC today. Now, it has been decided that the selection process could continue for a few more days before the preliminary list is drawn up. Talks in this respect will continue on Sunday.

Elections will be held in West Bengal in six phases and Assam in two phases.
The counting of votes will take place on May 19. Code of conduct for the elections comes into effect from Friday.

Malappuram: Muslim League announced candidates for its 20 sitting seats. Candidates for four seats will be announced after seat sharing talks with Congress.

KPCC President V. M. Sudheeran has asked Congress district level subcommittees to forward draft list of possible candidates for the Assembly elections by February 29.
The KPCC president, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala would meet and finalise the draft list on March 1. This list would be considered by the Congress High Command.
