The Central Election Committee of the BJP has approved the first list of 22 candidates for Assembly elections in Kerala.
State president Kummanam Rajasekharan, O. Rajagopal, V. Muraleedharan and P. K. Krishnadas will be contesting from Thiruvananthapuram district. Shobha Surendran is to contest from Palakkad constituency and K. Surendran from Manjeswaram. Former State president P. S. Sreedharan Pillai will be fielded in Chengannur.

Kerala government may move the courts if the Chief Electoral Office continues to stall distribution of drinking water in tankers over code of conduct for the elections, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here on Monday.
Speaking to the media after a meeting of the Cabinet, the Chief Minister said that the Chief Secretary would write again to the Election Commission of India to reconsider the matter urgently and grant clearance which had been refused earlier. If clearance is not forthcoming by tomorrow, the Cabinet would meet in the afternoon to consider legal and other course of action.

Thiruvananthapuram: Seat sharing talks in both the LDF and UDF are in limbo with constituents demanding larger share in the pie.
Groupism is taking the toll both in the Congress and BJP. Infighting in main constituents has hit both seat sharing talks and choice of candidates in UDF as well as NDA.
No agreement could be reached at LDF meet held on Sunday with minor constituents sticking to their seats demand for additional seats. Next meeting is scheduled for April 5 as no agreement is in sight.

Kurian Prakkanam will be contesting as an independent under the banner of Malayali Munnani highlighting the neglect and inaction by governments towards welfare of overseas Keralites.
